Day Without Weblogs
World AIDS Day
December 1, 2000

In participation with A Day Without Weblogs, Her Holiness has asked the Kemet.org webmaster to replace the Daily Devotions usually found on this page with an observance of World AIDS Day. The devotions will return tomorrow, December the 2nd.

Today, the Nisut (AUS) asks that you remember those who have gone to the West due to this disease, as well as take a few minutes to learn about the global AIDS crisis. We can all make a difference if we start with ourselves.

The Nisut (AUS) has spoken in the past regarding AIDS. She mentions Shambo Shankara in Her September 28th devotion. Shambo was a resident at the River House, a home to people living with AIDS that is operated by the River Fund.

She also has devoted a Wehem on the subject this year. In it, She discussed the bittersweet future of South Africa and the growing number of children there who are born with AIDS.

She supports the Statement of Conscience, and has encouraged House of Netjer members to read it.

If you know someone who has died of AIDS, we encourage you to visit our Virtual Abdju and leave a letter for them.

If you would like Her to pray for someone who is living with HIV, or for anything else you may want Her to pray for, please see our prayer page to email your prayer to Her.

Dozens of weblogs and journals representing a circle of compassion and concern around the United States and around the world are participating in A Day Without Weblogs.

You can see a complete list of the websites taking part in this unique observance and learn how you can become involved by clicking here.

"Learn something about AIDS, and then do something about it. Join us to make a difference -- join any religious or cultural or social work group of your choosing. There are children with AIDS all over the world dying alone right now. Make a difference for them, for yourself, and for the future of humanity."
